Family FAQ's

The average nanny search takes 2 to 6 weeks and is based upon the family’s job description and requirements. Our goal is to search, match and refer candidates that will qualify for your position.

You will have immediate access to search for nannies and potential candidates upon completing a Family Application. Once you have found potential candidates, we can contact them and coordinate interviews. No waiting for candidates to call and to discuss your job, we can do the work for you for a small service fee. Because we are a referral staffing agency for caregivers, they usually call us back immediately for information and details.

Yes, you will be able to have access to the nanny’s background screenings, including recorded felony and misdemeanor arrest and convictions within the past seven years. We run motor vehicle records search for recorded alcohol-related violations and moving violations. We verify their identity and employment eligibility by electronically matching information provided by employees on the Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, against records available to the Social Security Administration (SSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). We can perform amplified background screenings on candidates upon your request for additional charge and services fees.

You will receive a receipt of your purchase from PayPal. You will be re-directed back to the Family Membership site, and you can log out.

Once we received notification of your family application and payment of services, we will contact you first by email within 1-2 business days to acknowledge receipt of your application, and then we call to speak with you personally. Next, we will begin contacting potential candidates and coordinating your interviews to meet them personally at your home or office.

We try to spend a fair amount of time interviewing and getting to know a candidate. Most interviews will take an hour and half. Make a list of questions to ask beforehand. Start by asking questions such as: “Why do you want to be as a nanny (caregiver)? If she (or he) replies: “Because I like children,” ask “Why you want to work in-side a home?” The open-ended questions, will allow the caregivers to explain in more details. Also, ask “What did you like or dis-like about your last position?” because this question will give details of what situations to avoid in your positions; and the candidate may give you so much information, this may determine if you should hire them.

Once you have hired a candidate, let us know as soon as possible. We will contact the remaining candidates and let them know they were unfortunately not selected. We will follow up with you and your hired candidates to reconfirm details of a start date and your employment agreement.

The employment agreement is key to creating a successful and long-lasting employer and employee relationship. The Agreement provides details of the caregiver’s schedule, duties, salary or hourly wage, if there is any sick pay (because sick children often make the caregiver sick) and other benefits so there is not any misunderstanding or conflicts. We can provide consultation with you and your hired candidate to discuss these details for a small service fee and conduct a video conference call.

No, this service is not intended for hiring a caregiver with a permanent schedule, because many of these baby-sitters are members of our Professional Nanny, Au Pair & Babysitting Association, and are already hired by families, and are available on a ‘first come, served and as needed’ bases while other caregivers are looking for permanent full or part-time positions.

Nanny FAQ's

We ask that nannies or caregivers (for all positions) be 18 years or old, but on occasions, we have enrolled nannies as young as 16 or 17, who have upcoming birthdays within the year, and have gone through our training program, and have joined our Professional Nanny Association.

Our face-to-face registration and training workshop is usually from 10 am to 2 pm on Saturdays. We meet, register and interview you face to face, and go over your application and documents, and provide an interactive, exciting, and rewarding training experience. We also offer online workshops to view at your own convenience through our training program. We also are scheduling social events for nannies and caregivers to meet and greet each other.  Once you are a member of the Professional Nanny Association, you will have access to our calendar with dates and details.

No, you will be schedule for the next available CPR and First Aid class through one of our partners. The cost depends on what type of class you are registering for: CPR for Children and Adults or Infants and First Aid, but generally they would range from $25.00 & up for online classes in First Aid and $63 & up for CPR through the American Red Cross.

Caregivers who join our Association are the first called for babysitting jobs to earn extra money; and are invited to our events to meet, socialize and hang out with our nannies and caregivers. Mostly importantly, our members receive continuing support in their current positions, and on-going training for career advancement.
